There are some artists in the store whose work I love so much I
want to shout it from the rooftops and let everyone know how great
they are, John is one of those artists. He's got talent,
creativity, an awesome imagination and this really cool, sometimes
quirky way of looking at the world and expressing it through his
drawings. Above all he's got heart, is kind, trusting and has
been wonderful to me and La Muse - and his work sells like
hotcakes to boot! (Karma anyone?)
If you haven't

Every one of his pieces is framed and signed - some are limited
edition and are numbered . The
larger pieces
come in black metal/glass frames - the 'small
sentiments'
are featured in 4x6 natural wood finish frames - and his 3x3 'tokens
of love'
are placed in varied brushed aluminum frames. Personally, I have

PERSONALIZED ORDERS FOR THE HOLIDAYS: If you'd like to get a
leg up on holiday shopping and have some personalized
sentiments you'd like to share we have just the ticket. There
are a number of artists that will personalize their work at no
additional charge.
Karissa Chase
makes our ever popular 5" word dishes that can be used for
candy, change, jewelry, soap, you name it! They are $13.75
each and there is a variety of colors to choose from. She can
fit up to 10 words on any dish depending on the length of the
words. Perhaps you'd like to write "I love you Mom
-Katie" or "Merry Christmas 2007 Love, Gina" or
"Sharon, Thanks for being my best friend Love Sara." You
get the picture.
Joanne
Sharpe's
signs are hanging in most every room at La Muse. They
brighten our walls, add lots and lots of character to the
store and just yell 'fun!' Also at $13.75 the signs come in a
variety of shapes and colors. You can choose your own saying
- but Joanne also has 200 to choose from.

Burlington's Museware Pottery
is a collection of plates, mugs, goblets, etc. that can easily
be personalized. Mugs and goblets need to be ordered in
quantities of 8 or more for personalization - perfect for a
large family. Ideas: "The Smiths A Virginia Tech Family"
or "There are only Redskin fans in the Carter house" and so

BOOKS: Did you know that La Muse now

QUOTE: A couple of weeks ago a mother and
daughter were visiting La Muse. After a half hour of browsing
around and having fun in the store the daughter says to mom: "I
love this store, I feel better about myself just being in
here." Wow, I can't imagine a better compliment - it made my
day!
THANK YOU: La Muse doesn't do much in
the way of advertising and we rely so much on people spreading
the word to friends and family. People like Leslie, Mona,
Marie, Barbara, John and so many others who come back and bring
friends. Sometimes those referrals come full circle in the
coolest way. While I was away for Labor Day weekend Velvet came
into La Muse for the first time. Boy did we make an
impression! She immediately started telling everyone she knows
about the store. While she was out to dinner with her friend
Abby she started touting La Muse. Abby smiled because she knew
of the store. Abby works with my fiance Darryel. I had never
met Abby but two weeks later both Abby and Velvet came in and
had a grand old time LaMusing. (there's a new word for you)
My
appreciation goes out to them and to everyone who takes a moment
out of their day to tell someone else about "a great,
funky, fun, make you smile shop in OldTown." And hey, if the

NEW ARTISTS:
Last
month I told you about a new Canadian artist we were going to
begin carrying,
Mel V.
Inc.
Originally I thought I wasn't going to get my first shipment
until October - but I received it in September and have already
sold 80% of the order. Wow! I will place another order on
Thursday, October 4. I encourage you to let me know if there is
anything you are interested in. Even if you aren't sure you
want it I'd be happy to bring it into inventory and you can come
on in and take a look and decide for yourself. Each piece comes
boxed - nice and easy for Christmas wrapping.
During
the first week of October I expect my first order from
www.SergioLub.com.
I bought one of his bracelets a couple of years ago and love
it. I'll be carrying the brass and copper line but if there is
something particular that you'd like to order please let me
know.
By the
way, Spain was absolutely wonderful. The people were friendly
and fun and quite patient with us as we butchered their
language. We were only there a week and could have easily
 spent
two weeks - there's just so much that we didn't see. For those
of you that are
big
Misha's fans (that's our wonderful local coffee shop here in
Old Town) you'll get a kick out of the picture of us at The
Rock of Gibraltar with our Misha's cups. This was on our way
back from Morocco hence wearing the long sleeved shirt over my
dress to cover up respectufully for the locals - it certainly
wasn't cold, the weather was picture perfect.
