"One
cannot be grateful and
unhappy at the same time."
Does anyone else
feel like we went from August to November in a week?
Last week it was still sun dresses and flip
flops. Yesterday I turned the heat on for the first
time since April. Bring it on! I love the crisp, cool
air of fall. It's time to bundle up and take a walk -
soak in the bright colors and fresh air. Find a great
big pile of leaves and jump in them! (if it will make
you feel less silly grab a 5 year old - they'll be more
than willing to teach you the supreme delight of jumping
in a freshly raked pile of leaves)
November brings
my favorite holiday - Thanksgiving. I always knew that
Thanksgiving was my favorite holiday but I don't believe
that I ever actually proclaimed it until 2001. Living
in New York on 9/11 brought even more meaning to the
holiday than it had held before. In 2001 I decided to
forego Christmas cards and instead I sent a Thanksgiving
letter of gratitude to everyone letting them know how
much I love and appreciate them. If it's something you
haven't done before you might want to try it. It's a
wonderful way to get into the spirit of the holiday
season, it makes you feel really good and, last but not
least, you've got your holiday cards taken care of
before the real end-of-year craziness sets in! If you
are looking for a nice house gift to give on
Thanksgiving consider Spooner Creek's "Thankful
Grateful Blessed" hanging wall tile.
This particular November is a triple crown of events for
me and La Muse, not only will there be Thanksgiving but
La Muse will celebrate its ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY, and I'm
getting married! Woo Hoo!

Tuesday, November 20 -
Before you head home for Thanksgiving come by La
Muse and celebrate our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! We
will be distributing free gifts and refreshments
throughout the day. From 6-8pm join us for wine &
cheese and enjoy 15% off of your entire purchase!
Thank you so very much for your support throughout
the year. (PS - I will break my cardinal rule of
only sending one email a month and send a reminder
email for this event!)
On Friday, November 9th Darryel and I
head off to sunny Aruba with 20 of our closest
friends to tie the knot! The store will be closed
on November 9th and November 12-16. Of
course the store will be open on the weekends and
website orders will ship as usual. Come by and say
hello to Danica, Katie and Sheri. I promise to come
back well rested and ready for a marathon of store
hours leading up to Christmas!

New Artists:
Over the last couple of weeks La Muse has brought in
several new artists:
Spooner Creek
is the artwork of Wisconsin artist Michael Macone
whose lovely expressions in clay will be cherished in
any home.
Sergio Lub's
hand made copper, brass and silver bracelets are not
only beautiful works of art but have been known to
alleviate the symptoms of arthritis. I've already
sold a few bracelets to tennis players and golfers who
have been wearing his bracelets for years and swear by
them. One gentleman said "Heck, I don't know if it
works but I believe it works for me and that's all
that matters." Ain't it the truth?
We now also have
Mel. V's
Wisdom Stones and Words That We Love up on the website
for purchase
We've brought in a few new necklaces by
Dogeared Jewelry
- Beauty*Spirit*Grace is one that I am particularly
happy to offer.
Kathy Bransfield continues to create such poignant
necklaces. In searching for a gift for one of my very
dear friends I discovered two perfect necklaces that I
didn't yet have in the store - so I ordered them!
(How did I miss those?)
A friend is someone who
& it
is your friends that make your world
We have two new artists that aren't on the website yet
but here's a heads up:
Green Mountain Glass by Mark Pietrzak of Winchendon,
MA brings us the coolest stained glass originals. His
whimsical coffee cups, dragonflies, martinis,
sunflowers and the like now take up a full window at
La Muse. They are the perfect home accent for the fun
friend that has everything.
Clayton Dickson of Halifax is another one of those
artists whose work belongs in the "Say Something"
category. He has a great selection of signs that are
perfect for your wine bar ('wine makes everyone
hopeful' 'we're not getting older, just more complex'
'why limit happy to an hour') as well as amusing
sayings for the dog lovers, golf warriors and beach
goers in your life.

USA Artist
Remember Me Nothing
like a good cry in the morning!
This card is by a new artist I am considering
bringing into the store. I thought it was a
perfect, reflective 'woman to woman' Thanksgiving
card. If you'd like to give this card let me know!
It reads "She closed her eyes and thought of her
year it couldn't just be the "good" she was
thankful for it had to be the "all" the
fullness, the depths, the journey, the dance of
life for these she gave thanks."
Best wishes for a happy and peaceful Thanksgiving
holiday.
