I am a girl who is blessed in oh so many ways - and the one
which I'll share with you today is that I very rarely get a
headache. A few weeks ago my friend Dee (she lives above the
store and also helps me out by minding the store sometimes) came
home from work early with a migraine. As she headed upstairs
with a wince of pain on her face I silently counted my blessings
that I've never experienced one of those God awful things. So
when I started to get a headache late Sunday morning it took me
by surprise - while I was at the store it hurt so much that I
became nauseous. Just around the time I was feeling my absolute
worst a woman came into the store. She really took her time
looking and reading everything (I love when people do that - I
feel like people who run through the store just 'don't get it' -
there's too much great stuff to read!). As she was checking
out her items we got into a bit of a discussion and I mentioned
the headache I was dealing with and she said "Can you do
something for me? Sit here" and she grabbed the chair at the
desk. As it turns out, she's a massage therapist and head, neck
and shoulder pain is her specialty. Does life get any better
for me? She worked on me for a few minutes, paid for her
merchandise, placed a $10 bill in my Susan G. Komen 3-Day Breast
Cancer Walk donation box and proceeded to walk out. Her name
was Linda. My headache was gone within 10 minutes of her
leaving.
As the nauseous feeling subsided and I was finally able to eat my
lunch I pondered as to whether Linda might have simply vanished
after she walked out my door - poof! No matter, I had a smile on
my face as I looked upward and said 'Thank You.' (yes, this
actually happend this past Sunday!) |
New artists at La Muse!
We've got some fun new artists that have just
arrived at the store:
Hanni
Yothers of Pellston, MI -
Hanni's Word & Symbol pendants and One World-One
Word necklaces
are sure to be a hit. Each necklace is hand cut,
crafted and etched with great ideas to express your
individuality. At a price point between $27-$33
these sterling silver necklaces are sure to be given
again and again.
Lisa
Glaser of St. Petersberg, FL
- Lisa's whimsical beach buddies put such a big
smile on my face when I saw them that I just had to
have them in my store. They greet people right as
they walk in and can't help but bring a smile. My
dog, Lemieux, recently gave one to her best friend,
Kylie, with a note that said "See You In The Surf."
(ok, it was really me giving it to Kylie's mom)
Nicole
Engblom of Myrtle Beach, SC
- Looking for the perfect housewarming or hostess
gift? You have got to check out Nicole's bright,
colorful, fun and functional serving bowls and
dishes. Her work has themes that include dog
lovers, martini lovers, golf lovers, turtle lovers,
heart lovers - and lovers of all the lovers. Her
line of 3-D serving bowls will definitely envoke a
"Wow, that's really cool" from the recipient.
Spring is about to be Sprung!

Ireland
For those of you that took the time to give me
some great advice about where to go/what to do in
Ireland - thanks so much! Now it's my turn
to share.
Photos of Ireland
Here are a couple of tidbits for your next visit:
1. If you need to do any grocery shopping be sure
to bring your own bags. They DO NOT give you
grocery bags, you have to buy them. Now how's
that for some green ingenuity! 2. The least
expensive place to purchase souvenirs is at the
airport when you leave. They have all the fav
Waterford, Guinness and Trinity College gifts
without the VAT! No paperwork and less hauling
time.
