All dressed up for the St. Patrick's Day Parade!

Unlike most cities that celebrate St. Patrick's Day only on March 17th, the City of Alexandria has two St. Patrick's Days! On Saturday, March 6, Old Town will once again host our annual

St. Patrick's Day Parade - complete with both a classic car and fun dog show. If you're in the DC Metro area be sure to come down and check it out. Come by the store where my husband will be donning his Irish top hat and giving out free balloons to the kids and store specials for mom!

La Muse is one of 13 businesses that is spearheading a 'Handcrafted Alexandria' marketing campaign. The City of Alexandria has invested $13,000 in matching funds toward the effort and we have also received another $5,000 grant from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the Virginia Tourism Corporation. La Muse is grateful for all of the hard work that Claire Mouledoux of the Alexandria Convention and Visitor's Association did in writing the winning proposals that made this happen.

Monday is March 1st and spring can't be here soon enough. The flowers will start blooming, the birds will start singing, the darn squirrels may finally move out of my attic! Tourist season (aka 'shopping season') coincides with the first weekend of the National Cherry Blossom Festival, March 27th. In a few weeks La Muse will take delivery of all sorts of fun spring merchandise. What does that mean to you? In an effort to make room we have put lots of new stuff in our clearance section (including all of our heart jewelry at 40% off!) and will be adding things frequently so be sure to check back often.

A picture is worth a thousand words! I recently started a photo collage wall in my dining room using Mary Musel's wall appliques and am so happy with the way it's turning out. I have a few more finishing touches to do but I'd thought you'd like to see her creations in action. We are looking forward to a large shipment of Mary's products in the next few days and I've put a good amount of her new items up on the website for your home designing pleasure. She also will do custom designs, just drop me an email with your ideas. And yes, they are easy to apply (just some patience is required for the larger designs) and easy to remove.
